Tottenham Hotspur FC have parted company with manager André Villas-Boas in the wake of Sunday's 5-0 Premier League home defeat by Liverpool FC.......................

The 36-year-old, hired in July 2012, led the north London side to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 with six straight Group K wins but has stepped aside with Tottenham lying in a disappointing seventh place in the English top flight. "The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties," reads a club statement. "We wish André well for the future."
The only coach in the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League group stage to have won the competition in its current incarnation, Villas-Boas learned his coaching craft under Sir Bobby Robson and José Mourinho. After a first solo venture at A. Académica de Coimbra, he guided FC Porto to a Liga, Portuguese Cup and UEFA Europa League treble in 2010/11, but fared less well in a subsequent spell at Chelsea FC.
